The Repsol Honda rider responded to the dominance of the Yamaha by setting the best FP2 time ahead of Lorenzo, Rossi and Crutchlow.
When it seemed that the Yamaha riders would dominate the timesheets for the second consecutive session, the debutant Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda Team) signed a turn of 1.56.477 in the final moments of the second free session and finished in front of the classification. The record of Lleida is the fastest of the weekend so far, almost 2 tenths better than the chrono that left Jorge Lorenzo in the first position yesterday.
The World Champion was the second and last driver capable of rolling below 1.57 in this session, although he has been one tenth of his record on Thursday.
Minutes before the start of the session some raindrops have fallen on the desert layout, but the second free round has started practically on time and the riders have been able to go out on the track riding smooth tires. However, the asphalt still presents a lot of sand on its surface and the contingent of the category has had many difficulties to improve their times.
Valentino Rossi (Yamaha Factory Racing) has returned to command in the time table for many minutes, although the attacks of the two Spaniards have left him in third position, at 0.364s. of Márquez. Cal Crutchlow (Monster Yamaha Tech3), Stefan Bradl (LCR Team) and Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) have occupied the following positions ahead of Dani Pedrosa.
