Silverstone, the next challenge for Marc Márquez

After eleven races, the current MotoGP World Champion comes into the British Grand Prix with a 59-point lead over the rider in second place.

Marc Márquez has two victories at Silverstone: The first in 2010 -125cc- and the second in 2014, in MotoGP.

Márquez holds the record for the highest number of pole positions achieved at Silverstone, with six in total: One in 125cc (2010), one in Moto2 (2011) and four in MotoGP (2013, 2014, 2015 and 2017).

Marc Márquez: “Silverstone is a fast, technical track but our bike has very strong points, and we’ll try our best there, as usual. The track has been resurfaced, and that should be a good help in general for the performances; we’ll see if that’s the case. After quite a long time without the chance to ride in the rain, Austria confirmed that we can be fast in wet conditions, and that’s very good in view of a race in the UK! At Silverstone, the weather is another opponent to take into account, but whatever the conditions, we look forward to fighting for the podium again.”
