Marc Márquez (Repsol Honda Team) has conquered his ninth victory of the season in the Grand Prix eni Motorrad of Germany after a prolonged duel with his teammate Dani Pedrosa. Jorge Lorenzo (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) has given the triplet of Spaniards on the Sachsenring podium.
Marc Márquez has achieved another memorable triumph this Sunday and has enlarged his figure and his leadership in the 2014 World Championship after a race that has had an unusual start, with a good part of the group coming out of the pit lane, and an end like the one It has been seen in the previous eight races: with the world champion crossing the finish line ahead of everyone.
The Spaniard, who has won for the fifth year in a row at Sachsenring starting from pole position, is the first driver to beat the first nine races of the year since 1970, when Giacomo Agostini won the first ten races of that year. His new achievement will allow him to face the second part of the championship with 225 points, a huge advantage of 77 points over Dani Pedrosa, who today was second, and 84 over Valentino Rossi.
By the middle of the campaign, the Cervera driver has won in multiple ways and in different circumstances … but today’s has incorporated a completely new development. The race was declared wet in the rain previously fallen, however at the time of starting had stopped raining and the track was drying. Most of the group went out for reconnaissance with rain tires, but entered the pit lane before the start to change saddles and start with slicks, which caused an agglomeration in the pit lane while the grill only saw the nine traffic lights turn off.
Stefan Bradl (LCR Honda) has led the test in the first few laps, but the German’s strategy has only been partially successful. His slick tires were not accompanied by the proper configuration in his mount and he was reached first by Marquez and soon after by Pedrosa.
In search of the Repsol Honda duo, Lorenzo has noticed the German driver on the ninth lap to position himself in the podium position. Rossi was also able to pass Bradl shortly after. The Mallorcan has tried to go for the two ahead, a mission that has proved impossible because the distance with them was already almost six seconds shortly before the race reached its half.
Pedrosa has not taken off from his teammate’s wheel at any time. In the last laps it seemed that he was in a position to try the attack, but Márquez has managed his advantage masterfully. He has raised the pace when the Barcelona has approached less than two seconds and ended up crossing the finish line with a second and a half advantage. Pedrosa has added his seventh podium of the year and strengthens in a second position that until this Sunday he shared with Rossi.
Lorenzo has offered a solid race, with the only mole of caution in the first part, when the leading duo has gained meters of advantage, but has added his third podium of the year and remains only two points from the fourth position in the general classification that Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) holds.
Rossi has signed the fourth position and has preceded his compatriot Andrea Ianonne. Behind, .Aleix Espargaró has been sixth ahead of his brother Pol while .Dovizioso, Alvaro Bautista and Cal Crutchlow have completed the top ten positions.
