BECOMES THE MOST PRECOCIOUS WINNER OF A GP IN THE QUEEN CATEGORY
Marc Marquez is already MotoGP history. The Catalan won his first win in the premier class and became the youngest winner in history in the top class. All with 20 years and 63 days dethroning Freddie Spencer.
The ilerdense made a very intelligent career. He rode hard rubber behind, unlike all but Bradl. He made a bad start, or rather Pedrosa made an extraordinary one. Until the German slipped. It was for a short time, before going through the first goal.
Marc chose to stick to Dani. It was about preventing the escape of his childhood idol. He did it. With nine laps to go he unleashed his attack. He passed Pedrosa in a great maneuver and then resisted Castellar’s attacks. It was a struggle for something more than triumph. They go two races and in both has beaten his partner. After four laps it was a second and a half. The triumph was done. The story was already changed.
Behind, Lorenzo had to settle for being third. His Yamaha suffered the whole weekend due to grip problems. He is still a leader, but tied with Márquez. Worse was Rossi. His sixth place is a blow to his title options. He was overtaken by a satellite Yamaha, Crutchlow and Bradl’s Honda.
